WSE has a Student Welfare Officer available to support students in a professional and confidential manner with any problems that might arise while they are away from home. If necessary, we can put students in contact with a local GP.
We are unable to accept students with significant mental health issues.
Students or their parents/guardians or sponsors must inform us (before enrolment) of any history of mental health problems so that we can advise whether our courses are suitable for them.
If we become aware of serious issues after a student arrives, we contact the parents, sponsor and/or agent and inform them that we are not equipped to deal with such cases and that they should make arrangements for the student to leave the school and return home. If necessary we will also involve the local mental health team. In these cases, every effort is made not to distress the student.
