Legal English

Our Legal English course is designed for law students, practicing lawyers and other professionals working in the legal sector. If you want to develop your English language skills within a legal context, and prepare for the Test of Legal English Skills (TOLES), then this is the course for you. Our Legal English course covers fifteen areas of law and includes the study of real court trials in order to enhance the learning experience of the students. These courses follow our intensive timetable of 28 lessons/23 hours 20 minutes per week.

Legal English with TOLES Preparation

You will work on improving all four English language skills within a legal context as well as learning specific legal terminology and how to use it appropriately. The course also includes preparation for the Test of Legal English Skills (TOLES) so there is an emphasis on the exam techniques and study strategies required to pass the exam. In addition to this, participants are expected to improve their core study skills through up to 2 hours of focused self-study each evening set by their tutors to meet their needs.

You will follow our Intensive course timetable of 28-lessons per week and will study Monday - Thursday 09:15 - 15:45 and Friday 09:15 - 12:55 only.

Lessons will be tailored to include specific areas of interest for students new to the course, and as the exam is always on a Thursday, specialist areas can also be covered in the final lesson at the end of the course which follows the exam.

The 4-week course includes a free visit to an iconic court of law in central London and you will se a real trial (subject to court schedules).

The fee for the Test of Legal English Skills (TOLES) Advanced examination is £175.
