Do you need to improve your IELTS score?

Prepare for the exam with us!

Here are 5 reasons why Wimbledon School of English is the best language school in the UK to prepare for the IELTS Exam.

1. Experience
We have been running IELTS preparation and pre-sessional Academic English courses since 1999 and were one of the first schools in the UK to offer these programmes. Over the years we have built up a dedicated team of permanent, diploma-qualified teachers, including 8 IELTS examiners. If you prepare for IELTS with us, it is quite likely that you will be taught by an examiner … surely that is the best kind of teacher you can ask for?

2. Exam Centre
The London Exam Centre is a part of Wimbledon School of English so when it comes to the end of your course, you take the exam here in Wimbledon. You might be feeling a bit anxious before the exam so travelling to an unknown place is not ideal. We run our exams at the school and in larger venues within walking distance of the school. We have several exam dates throughout the year so we can help you find one which works well for you.

3. Flexible course length
We run a number of IELTS Preparation courses throughout the year and you can choose from a 10, 6 or 4 week programme. These courses will prepare you for Academic IELTS and you will have the option to take the exam at the end of your course. These are intensive courses with 20 full hours of IELTS preparation per week. If you are looking for just a taster of IELTS preparation, you can IELTS preparation as an add-on for an extra 4 lessons per week.

4. Free online learning
All students get free access to e-wimbledon for the duration of their course, 3 months before and 3 months after. There is a built-in IELTS platform hosted by guided e learning which will become your very own IELTS tutor. It is available 24 hours a day and will give you model answers which you can compare with your own and videos of other students so you can identify what is good and bad practice. The IELTS platform tracks your progress and knows your most common mistakes, allowing it to create personalised exercises that focus on your weakest areas.

5. Study Centre
It is important to work hard outside of class time too and the study centre is the perfect place to do this. You have a wealth of resources dedicated to IELTS including more online exercises and a wide range of past IELTS exam papers. Our secret weapon is the Study Centre Manager, Yasmin, and she is there every afternoon after classes to offer free one-to-one guidance. She can help you select the right materials to supplement your classwork and will even create a personalised study plan and monitor your progress as you work through the different tasks.
