IELTS Preparation with Academic English


IELTS or International English Language Testing System assesses the English language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. Our IELTS with pre-sessional English courses not only prepare students for the IELTS exam, but also give guidance on academic study techniques for use at an English-speaking university.

Choose from our 4, 6 or 10 week IELTS preparation courses below. Please note that the 4-week IELTS Express course does not include a pre-sessional English language component while the 6 and 10 week courses do. 

The fee for the IELTS Academic Module is £180.

Please note that some public holidays may fall within your course dates. See below for a full list of all public holiday dates in 2020.

Classes missed as a result of a public holiday will not be refunded or made up.

 

Academic IELTS Express

This is a 4-week fast, dynamic IELTS Preparation English language course designed to quickly prepare you for the Academic IELTS examination if you are planning to go to an English-speaking university or college. This course follows our standard timetable of 24 lessons per week/20 hours per week.

On this course, you will:

  • Make rapid progress by focusing on the academic skills and exam techniques necessary to attain a good score in the IELTS exam.
  • Be taught by highly experienced teachers.
  • Be studying with others who share the same goal as you, achieving the highest score possible in the exam.
  • Receive up to 2 hours of homework per day.

If you would like to focus on pre-sessional English, we recommend our 6 or 10 week IELTS Preparation with Pre-sessional English courses.

IELTS Preparation with Pre-sessional Academic English

This IELTS Preparation Course is perfect for students who wish to be fully prepared for the IELTS Academic examinations. It also gives fantastic guidance on academic study techniques for use at an English speaking university, meaning that the students can totally prepare themselves for studying in an English university. This course follows our standard timetable of 24 lessons per week/20 hours per week.

Wimbledon School of English is also a test centre for IELTS so students will have the opportunity to take the exam here in Wimbledon at the end of their course. 

You will:

  • Benefit from a dedicated class that will prepare you for IELTS Academic examination.
  • Gain confidence in using the academic study skills needed to study at an English-speaking university or college.
  • Have the opportunity to visit a university campus and attend a real lecture.
  • Take the Academic IELTS examination (if required) here at our exam centre.
  • Have regular tutorials with your teacher to discuss your progress and study aims.
  • Receive up to 2 hours of homework everyday.

All students will be required to pass the school exam entrance test before starting their exam course.

IELTS Preparation with Pre-sessional Academic English Express

This 6-week IELTS Preparation with Pre-sessional Academic English course is ideal for those who cannot commit to the 10-week programme but still want to focus on pre-session English.

This course will not only prepare you to take the IELTS Academic exam but you will also learn about academic study techniques for life at an English speaking university meaning students can feel prepared for university life. 

Wimbledon School of English is a test centre for IELTS so students can take the exam here in Wimbledon at the end of their course. 

You will:

  • Receive expert advice on how to prepare for the IELTS Academic examination.
  • Feel more confident using the academic study skills required to study at an English-speaking university or college.
  • Have the chance to visit a British campus and attend a lecture.
  • Take the IELTS examination (if required) our exam centre in Wimbledon.
  • Discuss your progress and objectives through regular tutorials with your teacher. 
  • Receive up to 2 hours of homework everyday.

All students must pass an entrance exam in order to join the course.
